Going to Chiropractic School and continuing to pursue our dream...
I have come to learn that I can not embark on this healing journey alone. I want to use a team of practitioners to help people heal body, mind, and spirit. I think it would be so important to have a team of chiropractors, naturopaths, counselors, and medical doctors that work together and treated their patients holistically. One thing that I’ve learned working as a physical therapist assistant these past 5 years is how the body is so interconnected and how even stress and emotions can be rooted to cause diseases within the body. One thing that will help me as a chiropractor is my passion to learn. Im always trying to read and understand new concepts and be open to anything new that I haven’t heard before. Im always reading new books, articles, watching videos, and listening to podcasts. I would love to learn how nutrition, exercise, lack of sleep, stress, emotional trauma, and more affect the body and lead to disease. One of my biggest frustrations in the current medical model is their inability to help people find the root problems to their diagnoses. I want to be a chiropractor who offers them true solutions to my patients problems. Lastly, I feel like the most important skill I have and have been trying to grow is listening to my patients. Listening with empathy and trying to put myself in their shoes and understand them on their level. I want to show people that there are people in the healthcare field who truly care about their issues and will take the time necessary to help them overcome their problems.
